After lifetime in and operating nightclubs and bars I have developed a connection with music from high capacity, high price tag and engineered sound systems in purpose built acoustic friendly rooms.

I was provided with a prototype #SINNSOUND box for my home to test about 9 months ago. Home is different to a dance club but so was the 7 months of Covid Iso that unexpectedly kept us all home.

I connected my #SINNSOUND to my home system.

I started with 4 active speakers as fronts and two separate active speakers as rears. I found that this flooded too much sound into the room. When I cut it back to the recommended 4 speaker setup two fronts and the active rears the dynamic changed. The additional separation and clarity gave me something unexpected. The #SINNSOUND box created a live music experience.

Back to COVID Iso and being alone, missing friends and parties, the #SINNSOUND unit created such a realistic live sound that it was emotional.

This worked equally well with high quality digital recordings, vinyl or via the Bluetooth from my TV or phone.

Streaming music regained depth and direction which I didn’t expect either.

#SINNSOUND took my Bang & Olufsen system from being excellent to being extraordinary. Money can buy great equipment, we all pride ourselves on our personal taste and choose our favourites but I have never encountered anything that triggered emotions and memories like the quality of the #SINNSOUND box does.

So good, it’s an emotional experience.

Yes, this is about music quality. Yes, you’re going to hear things in the playback that have always been there, but your system could never play them. It is like listening to a track for the first time. I have never heard anything better.

I had no idea what I was missing before, but now I do and I won’t go back.

This is an exceptional addition to any audio video system and it is without parallel

I was so lucky to get one of the working prototypes and I am seriously impressed with the Sinn Sound Box technology and its ability create a full stadium experience with surround sound. I have grown up with music my entire life, performed in piano bars and with live bands so my understanding to balance the levels of individual instruments with vocals is the key to great sounding music. The Sinn Sound Box distributes the sound around the room from any recording and allows you to listen to the various instruments and vocals in what I can only describe as a full HD experience. I connected 4 speakers around the room and 2 of them are from my old Pye record player from the 1980’s and I am astounded by the results. I love that every song I decide to play through the Sinn Sound Box comes alive and I constantly feel like I’m at a live gig. Do yourself a favour and get hooked on the Sinn Sound Box just like I did – it’s awesome!

Having grown up with a love of music and lived through the great changes in technology and the quality of what we listen to over the last 50 years, I’ve seen quite a lot on offer and promises that don’t live up to expectations. Sinn Sound is not one of those, it delivers. 

And boy, does it deliver…

I’ve worked in many aspects of the music industry over the last 30 years as a DJ, creating music in the studio, working with live bands and also as a tech for many venues. Sound quality (unless it’s loud) quite often falls by the wayside. When you’re at home, you want good sound. In the 21st century, you want next level sound.

I’ll put my hand up, I was sceptical when first approached about Sinn Sound as I have seen a few options on the market that promise a Dolby standard, since that’s the benchmark, yet fall short on that.

I was given a prototype to play with and see what feedback I had regarding all aspects this new toy. Unboxing was interesting, no instructions, no manual, just plug and play. By play, I mean play with the Sinn Sound unit, discover what it does, try different settings. And then go back and play again and find all the things you missed.

The design is sleek, setup really easy and gives you many options to configure to your room, your sound, your ear.

At first, I streamed through a Bluetooth receiver, until I discovered that the Bluetooth is built in. I’ve played a mixture of music from digital DJ sets, to 70’s rock, 60’s funk and soul, orchestral pieces and Neil Diamond for my mum!

Now I have changed my setup to include it as surround sound for movies and then have the ability to switch to turntables or digital DJ setup. All providing a new way of hearing very familiar works.

Sinn Sound gives you an amazing sense of space, it plays with your ears and your mind, picking highlights and putting them in a space where you weren’t quite expecting it. 

I’ve had fun with it along the way, with some of my best reactions coming from my 8yo son who is learning about music. To watch his face as he absorbs the space in the sound and points out the separation of it which the box provides is great. To hear him say “this makes music next level” is even better.

So, from an initial sceptic, I’d tell everyone to try it.

And then try going back to listening to sound and music the old way…
